ECIR Group Inc. Unveils New Logo

12/09/2016

Over the years, the Equine Cushing’s  and Insulin Resistance Group has grown from a small internet forum into an international resource. It has become clear that we needed a new logo — one that more completely represents our mission and also recognizes the dedicated support of our volunteers and the equine caregivers who are in the trenches helping equines with Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID) and Insulin Resistance (IR) around the globe.

The ECIR Group Logo Committee worked for several months to design an image that speaks to science and research, the impact of real life situations, the “wholistic” approach the ECIR Group uses as guidance for recommendations and, perhaps most importantly, the relationship between human and horse.

A new logo is announced that best captures the heart of the mission of the group; a logo that also recognizes the dedicated support from volunteers and the equine caregivers who are in the trenches.

Without these dedicated people the ECIR Group would not be here today.

The logo may be seen on the groups.io discussion forum

The new logo may also be seen on Facebook, the International Veterinary Information Service, the 2017 NO Laminitis! Conference, and more.

We wish there were no need for our nonprofit organization, that equines never had metabolic issues, and that they never developed painful laminitis. But that's not the case. So when you need help for a horse or donkey with PPID or IR (or both), look for our logo and know that it represents a wealth of information, proven protocols, and the guidance needed to improve the welfare of equines with Equine Cushing’s Disease/PPID and Insulin Resistance.

Copies of the new logo may be obtained upon request.

About ECIR Group Inc.
Started in 1999, the ECIR Group is the largest field-trial database for PPID and IR in the world and provides the latest research, diagnosis, and treatment information, in addition to dietary recommendations for horses with these conditions. Even universities do not and cannot compile and follow long term as many in-depth case histories of PPID/IR horses as the ECIR Group.

In 2013 the Equine Cushing's and Insulin Resistance Group Inc., an Arizona nonprofit corporation, was approved as a 501(c)3 public charity. Tax deductible contributions and grants support ongoing research, education, and awareness of Equine Cushing's Disease/PPID and Insulin Resistance.

THE MISSION of the ECIR Group Inc. is to improve the welfare of equines with metabolic disorders via a unique interface between basic research and real-life clinical experience. Prevention of laminitis is the ultimate goal. The ECIR Group serves the scientific community, practicing clinicians, and owners by focusing on investigations most likely to quickly, immediately, and significantly benefit the welfare of the horse.
